Coventry UK City of Culture 2021

Coventry won the bid to be UK City of Culture at the end of 2017 for 2021. But due to the pandemic it was postponed to start for a year from May 2021.


What is Coventry UK City of Culture 2021?

The City of Coventry won a bid to host the UK City of Culture 2021, during December 2017. After a delay due to the pandemic, it finally got underway during May 2021, for the next 12 months.

Transport

Visitors from Birmingham, or elsewhere can get the train to Coventry Station, or a bus or coach to Coventry Pool Meadow Bus Station. It takes about 10 minutes or longer to walk into Coventry City Centre.

 

What to see?

There is a rainbow arcade on Hertford Street in Coventry City Centre. There is also a merchandise shop in there. If you miss it, there is a shop online.

At Broadgate around the bronze statue of Lady Godiva is multi-coloured ribbons with messages on them. You can get up there via the Upper Precinct.
